Just wondering – do we need to have all 52 blocks completed before we start piecing the blocks together with the sashing? Or is is designed to be pieced together in order (eg Row A: blocks 1-6; Row B: blocks 7-12 etc)?
ATM I just have all 33 completed blocks in a folder, and all the sashings etc cut out in ziplock bags… as you do!
I prefer to do larger quilts QAYG (easier on the back!) and wondered if I could get a jump-start on it.
Also, are there any tips and tricks on the drawing board for the quilting once it is pieced? They’d be most welcome!
Betty J
Hi Betty, you can start piecing the blocks together any time you like.
I am planning to piece together in order – eg Row A: blocks 1-6; Row B: blocks 7-12 etc – but that is not necessary. You can add the blocks any way you like.
Haven’t giving the quilting much thought yet!
Cheers, Lyn
Thanks Lyn
Our Mystery Quilt contains 52 blocks, one for each week of 2020.
Each block is pieced and contains 4 colors – a dark color, a light color, a medium color and a bright color.
There is a sample block that you can download to try before the class begins.
We are also looking to offer some other courses, if there is enough interest
