Has pattern A (black/dark) been omitted from #29???
Just realised that Block A begins as 21/2″ square!!!
In Block 29, if piece A begins as a 2.1/2 inch square, and block B is cut to finish as a 2.1/2 square, then Block C is not going to match. It looks to me as if the cutting diagram does not belong to this Block. Can somebody please advise?
Ladies, I am sorry. There is a problem with the cutting of the dark center for Block 29.
I cannot do anything about it tonight, but will sort it in the morning.
Cheers, Lyn
Wondering if Block #29’s missing dimensions for A (dark centre) has been sorted??
Margaret, I just cut strips 1¼” strips each 4″ long; carefully centered my triangles on either side, then trimmed the finished units to 2½” squares. Saved a lot of angst! (Only made the block yesterday…)
Oh, I lined up the centre of the ¾” strips on the 45°angle when trimming them to the 2½” squares.
Thank you for this, Betty, I haven’t started making the blocks yet, but I’m printing them all as they come along so they’ll be ready when I get a chance to start.
You can also do it the following way:
Cut 5 of 2.5″ blocks in black fabric.
Stitch the coloured triangles to the corner of the black square, flip them into place and then trim the black fabric from behind the triangle.
Lyn
Many thanks Betty and Lyn
Our Mystery Quilt contains 52 blocks, one for each week of 2020.
Each block is pieced and contains 4 colors – a dark color, a light color, a medium color and a bright color.
There is a sample block that you can download to try before the class begins.
We are also looking to offer some other courses, if there is enough interest
