Yeah, I agree, Robyn! Because they are only 6″ blocks, any inaccuracy ruins the lot! I’ve turned it into my private war on “Precision Piecing’! (I won’t tell you HOW many times I stitched the first few…)
Also because the individual units are so small (and fiddly…) I’ve found that the units such as ‘flying geese’ in Block 7 are so much better done by the 4-in-one method. That way you are not stitching tiny scraps of fabric on the bias and having them move under the machine.
I’ve also started cutting my HST squares 1″ bigger (not 7/8”) and them trimming them back to size after stitching them ‘two at a time’. SOOOO much neater results!
